Nine years ago, Inspiration Co began with a simple conviction: words can shape a life, and a life surrendered to God can shape the world. What started as a family vision has become a movement worn on wrists, carried into schools, spoken over children, and shared across more than 60 locations and millions of lives.

This week we are celebrating that story. Not as a flex. As a thanksgiving. And we are marking it with an exclusive drop from this season’s collection: CREATED TO CREATE.

That phrase is more than a new engraving. It is the through-line of everything we have learned. We were not put here only to get through the week. We were made in the image of a Creator. Which means the work of our hands, the tone of our homes, the courage in our conversations, and the beauty we protect in hard seasons all matter.

Thoughtful Thursday: Created to Create — Nine Years of Building What God Placed in Us

Reflection

Ephesians 2:10 tells us who we are before it tells us what to do: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” That verse does not flatter ambition. It restores identity. You are not an accident who happens to be busy. You are God’s workmanship. The Greek idea behind that word is a poem, a crafted piece, something made with intention. If that is true, then creating is not reserved for artists and founders. It is the calling of every believer who wakes up and asks, “Lord, what good work did You prepare for me today?”

Genesis begins with a God who creates, then blesses, then gives responsibility. “Be fruitful.” Fill the earth. Cultivate it. From the first pages of Scripture, image-bearers are invited into meaningful making. Not creating as God creates — out of nothing — but creating as people who take what God has given and form it into something faithful: a home with peace in it, a business with integrity in it, a sentence that lifts a weary mind, a table where the next generation hears the truth.

That is why Created to Create belongs in a ninth-year celebration. Inspiration Co did not grow because the path was easy. It grew because people kept making the next faithful thing. A message. A bracelet. A store. A conversation. A family decision to keep God at the center when the calendar was overflowing. Psalm 127:1 remains the foundation under all of it: “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” We can build locations, teams, and collections. We cannot build a house that lasts unless the Lord is the One holding the work.

Carolyn’s words about finding your pretty bottle reach into the same truth. Hard seasons come. They come to families. They come to companies. They come to people who love God and still get tired. A “pretty bottle” is not pretending the cracked places are not there. It is refusing to let the cracked places become the only thing you see. Philippians 4:8 trains the mind for that kind of seeing: whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable — think on these things. Psalm 34:8 makes it personal: “Taste and see that the Lord is good.” Beauty is not a luxury item in the Christian life. It is a way of remembering God in the middle of pressure.

This is also a family truth. Carolyn has lived creation across generations — children, grandchildren, and a company that was never only product. Deuteronomy 6:6-7 tells us to keep God’s words on our hearts and to impress them on our children when we sit at home and when we walk along the road. The most important things we create are not always the things that can be counted. A faithful marriage. A home where encouragement is spoken. A grandchild who learns that God is good because someone older kept saying it and living it. Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us that even ordinary work can become worship: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”

And then there is the long road. Galatians 6:9 says, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Nine years is a harvest marker. Not the end of the field. A reminder that slow faithfulness still bears fruit. Serving millions of people around the world has never been a distant statistic to us. It is a student starting the year with a word on their wrist. A parent choosing a better thought. A woman walking through a hidden battle with one sentence of hope in her hand. A church, a classroom, a grandmother, a Life Surge aisle. That is creating. That is good work prepared in advance.

So if life feels heavy right now, hear this without polish: you may not feel creative. You may feel behind. You may feel like the bottle cracked. Created to Create does not require you to feel ready. It asks you to remember who made you, then take the next faithful step with Him. Write the encouraging text. Pray before the rush. Build the thing God put in your hands. Speak life over your people. Keep doing good. The harvest is still His.
