Spark Saturday: Light the Fire Before the Inspiration Summer Challenge Begins

Many people wait for motivation to show up. But the wisest ones create it. They strike the match. They fan the flame. They get ready before the big moment arrives.

This Spark Saturday is your moment to do exactly that — to light the fire before the Inspiration Summer Challenge officially begins.

A special note today: This post is written with so much excitement and belief in what God wants to do in your life this summer.

Mini Reflection: Fan Into Flame

The Apostle Paul wrote these powerful words to his young disciple Timothy while imprisoned:

“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you…” (2 Timothy 1:6)

Paul wasn’t speaking to someone who had no fire — he was speaking to someone whose fire had grown dim. Timothy was facing fear, opposition, and the heavy weight of leadership. In that moment, Paul didn’t tell him to wait for better circumstances. He didn’t tell him to wait until he felt stronger or more qualified. Instead, Paul gave him a clear instruction: fan into flame what God had already placed inside him. This is such a beautiful picture for us today. God has placed gifts, dreams, passions, and a calling inside every one of us. But those things don’t always stay blazing on their own. Life, busyness, disappointment, and daily routines can cause our inner fire to die down to glowing embers. That’s why Paul uses the image of “fanning into flame” — it’s an active, intentional choice. It requires effort. It requires us to blow on the coals, add fuel, and keep the fire alive.

This weekend, as we stand just days away from the launch of the Inspiration Summer Challenge, I believe the Lord is whispering the same thing to many of us: “Fan into flame what I’ve placed in you.”

Maybe your fire has grown dim because of a difficult season. Maybe you’ve felt stuck, weary, or distracted. Or maybe you’re simply ready for something fresh and new. Whatever your situation, this is your invitation to stir up the gift of God inside you. To get excited. To prepare your heart. To believe that this summer can be different.

The Inspiration Summer Challenge is not the fire itself — it’s the wind that helps fan the flame. The bracelets, shirts, hats, weekly challenges, and community are all tools to help you keep that fire burning brightly for the next 10 weeks and beyond.

Why Lighting the Fire Matters Right Now

The people who get the most out of the Inspiration Summer Challenge are the ones who show up already sparked. Lighting the fire this weekend creates momentum, builds anticipation, clears mental space, and positions you to fully receive everything God has for you.

Christian Faith Points

  • God has already placed a flame inside you — we get to fan it into a fire (2 Timothy 1:6).
  • Preparation is an act of faith and obedience.
  • The best summer stories are written by those who prepare their hearts in advance.
  • The Inspiration Summer Challenge is a tool — your fire is what makes it powerful.
  • Small sparks this weekend can become a blazing testimony by the end of summer.
  • We were never meant to live lukewarm lives — God calls us to burn bright.

Your Spark Saturday Story

Take a few minutes right now and ask yourself:

  • What do I want to feel at the end of this summer?
  • What needs to be “lit on fire” in my heart right now?
  • What is one small action I can take today to get ready for the Inspiration Summer Challenge?

Write it down. Pray over it. Then do one thing that sparks joy, faith, or excitement in you today.

Practical Tools: Lighting Your Fire This Weekend

  • Create a short “Summer Fire List” — write down 5 things you want to see happen through the challenge.
  • Listen to a worship playlist that stirs your spirit.
  • Watch the sunrise or sunset and thank God for the new season.
  • Pick out your favorite Inspiration Co. piece and wear it as a declaration.
  • Text a friend and tell them you’re doing the Inspiration Summer Challenge together.
  • Spend 10 quiet minutes praying over the next 10 weeks.
  • Get your journal ready — the story is about to begin.

Prayer or Reflection

Father, thank You for this Spark Saturday. Thank You for the fire You’ve placed inside each of us. As we prepare for the Inspiration Summer Challenge launching in just four days, help us fan that flame. Stir up excitement, faith, and expectation in our hearts. Let this be the summer where we burn brighter for You than ever before. We say yes to all You want to do. Amen.
