Happy Sacred Sunday! 🙏

There’s a holy hush that settles over this day — a beautiful reminder to slow down, breathe, and turn our hearts fully toward the Lord. As we stand just three days away from the launch of something very special, today feels like the perfect time to pause and prepare.

On Tuesday, May 27, we’re kicking off The Inspiration Summer Challenge: 10 Weeks to Live Inspired. Every Wednesday you’ll receive a new bracelet message, shirt or hat design, and a powerful 7-day challenge. But before the excitement begins, let’s do what matters most — prepare our hearts for what God wants to do in us and through us this summer.

“Summer is a blank slate. With God’s help, you get to write a beautiful story — one thankful thought, one good day, and one faithful choice at a time.”

Sacred Sunday: Preparing Your Heart for What God Wants to Do This Summer

Summer is a beautiful blank slate. A fresh page in the story God is writing with your life. But before we start writing, we must first make space. We must surrender. We must prepare our hearts.

A special note today: This post is written with deep love and prayer for every person reading. Whether you’re excited, tired, hopeful, or somewhere in between — God sees you, and He has beautiful plans for your summer.

Mini Sermon Reflection: Create in Me a Pure Heart

King David prayed these honest words in Psalm 51:10: “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”

David wasn’t praying this from a place of perfection — he was praying from a place of need. He understood that if God was going to do something powerful in his life, it had to begin with the condition of his heart.

The same is true for us. Before the new bracelets, the challenges, the photos, and the community excitement, God is gently inviting us to do heart work. To release what we’ve been carrying. To make room for what He wants to pour in.

This summer doesn’t have to look like every other summer. It can be different — deeper, more joyful, more peaceful — if we first give Him our hearts.

Christian Faith Points

  • God cares more about the condition of our hearts than the busyness of our schedules.
  • A prepared heart is a ready heart — ready to receive, ready to grow, ready to be used.
  • Summer is a sacred blank slate. We get to choose what story we will write with God.
  • Surrendering our plans opens the door for God’s beautiful plans.
  • Renewing our hearts leads to renewed minds, renewed joy, and renewed purpose.
  • What we carry into summer determines what we experience in summer.
  • The best summers begin with stillness and surrender on days like today.

Your Sacred Sunday Story

Take a quiet moment right now. Find a peaceful spot, maybe outside or by a window, and ask the Lord this simple question:

“God, what do You want to do in my heart this summer?”

Sit with that question. Write down whatever comes to mind. Maybe it’s more peace. More trust. More joy. More presence with your family. More boldness in your faith. Whatever it is, offer it back to Him today.

Practical Tools: Heart Preparation Practices

  • Spend 15–20 minutes in quiet prayer and reflection today.
  • Write a short “Summer Surrender List” — things you’re releasing to God.
  • Read Psalm 51 out loud and make David’s prayer your own.
  • Create a summer playlist of worship songs that stir your heart toward God.
  • Choose one area of your life you want to see God move in this summer.
  • Set a gentle phone boundary this week to protect your sacred space.
  • Share your summer prayer with a friend or family member for support.

Prayer or Reflection

Heavenly Father, thank You for this Sacred Sunday. Thank You for the gift of a new season and the opportunity to begin again. Create in us pure hearts. Renew a steadfast spirit within us. As we prepare for the Inspiration Summer Challenge launching this Tuesday, we surrender our plans, our worries, and our expectations to You. Do in us what only You can do. Fill us with hope, peace, and excitement for what You want to do this summer. We trust You completely. Amen.

Commitment / Pledge

Today, on this Sacred Sunday, I commit to preparing my heart for what God wants to do this summer. I release control and make space for His presence, His peace, and His purposes. I am excited and ready for the Inspiration Summer Challenge beginning May 27.
