Happy Memorial Day and Motivation Monday! 🇺🇸

Today we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we could live in freedom. Their courage, love of country, and selflessness remind us that freedom is never free — it was purchased with precious lives.

As we stand on the edge of summer, today feels especially meaningful. Tomorrow, May 27, we launch The Inspiration Summer Challenge: 10 Weeks to Live Inspired. This summer, we want to honor their sacrifice not just with words, but with how we choose to live — one grateful, intentional, “Good Day” at a time.

“They gave everything so we could have the freedom to choose a good day — let’s honor them by actually living one.”

Motivation Monday: Honoring Sacrifice & Choosing a Good Day This Summer

Memorial Day is both solemn and hopeful. It’s a day to remember the fallen and a day to recommit to living lives worthy of their sacrifice. At Inspiration Co., we believe one of the most powerful ways we can honor them is by refusing to take our freedom for granted and choosing to live inspired, grateful, and purposeful every single day.

A special note today: This post is written with deep respect and gratitude for every service member who gave their life, and for the families who carry their legacy.

Mini Sermon Reflection: Greater Love Has No One Than This

Jesus said in John 15:13: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

This verse perfectly captures the heart of Memorial Day. The men and women we remember today didn’t just serve — they laid down their lives for people they would never meet, for freedoms they knew we would enjoy. That kind of love is rare, holy, and worthy of deep honor.

When we study the stories of those who made the ultimate sacrifice, a common thread emerges: they were ordinary people who chose to do something extraordinary in the moment it mattered most. They thought of their brothers and sisters in arms, their families back home, and the country they loved more than their own comfort.

One such hero was Corporal Freddie Stowers, who in World War I led his men in a charge against a heavily defended German position. Even after being mortally wounded, he continued encouraging his unit forward until they captured the hill. His bravery saved many lives.

Another powerful story is that of Lt. Michael Murphy, a Navy SEAL in Afghanistan. Knowing his team was in danger, he left cover to call for help, exposing himself to enemy fire so his brothers could be rescued. He paid with his life but saved others.

Then there’s Master-at-Arms Michael Monsoor, who threw himself onto a live grenade to shield his teammates during the Iraq War. In that split second, he chose their lives over his own.

Stories like these — and thousands more we may never hear — remind us that freedom has a face, a name, and a story. These heroes didn’t get to see the full fruit of their sacrifice. But we do.

So how do we honor them? We live fully. We choose gratitude. We decide — every single morning — that

It’s Gonna Be a Good Day.Christian Faith Points

  • The greatest love is sacrificial love — and we are called to reflect that love in our daily lives.
  • Freedom is a gift we must steward well — with gratitude, purpose, and joy.
  • Honoring the fallen means living lives that are worthy of their sacrifice.
  • A renewed mind (Romans 12:2) helps us choose positivity even on hard days.
  • Summer is a beautiful time to reset our hearts and live more intentionally.
  • Small daily choices — like starting with gratitude — become a powerful way to say “thank you.”
  • When we wear inspiring messages and live them out, we carry forward the spirit of hope and resilience.

Stories That Remind Us Why Every Day Matters

We could fill pages with the brave acts of our service members. What stays with me is how many of them faced impossible situations with courage and love for others. Whether it was shielding a fellow soldier, staying at their post, or running toward danger instead of away from it — they gave everything.Their sacrifice allows us to gather with family this weekend, enjoy the start of summer, watch fireworks, and yes — choose a good day even when life is hard.

That’s why we created the Inspiration Summer Challenge. It’s our way of turning remembrance into action. Every week you’ll receive a new bracelet, shirt, or hat with a powerful message and a simple 7-day challenge to help you live more grateful, more present, and more inspired.

Your Motivation Monday Story

Take a quiet moment today. Remember someone who served — maybe a family member, friend, or a hero you’ve read about. Then ask yourself:“How can I live this summer in a way that honors their sacrifice?”Write down one small commitment — perhaps starting each day with “It’s Gonna Be a Good Day,” practicing more gratitude, or being more present with your loved ones.

Practical Tools: Living a Life Worthy of Their Sacrifice

  • Begin each morning with a prayer of gratitude for freedom and those who protected it.
  • Wear your “It’s Gonna Be a Good Day” bracelet or shirt as a daily reminder.
  • Start a summer gratitude journal — note one blessing each night.
  • Do one intentional act of kindness this week in honor of someone who served.
  • Limit negativity and choose content that lifts your spirit.
  • Spend time outdoors — enjoy the freedom they fought to protect.
  • Share stories of heroes with your children or friends so their legacy lives on.

Prayer or Reflection
