Happy Wellness Wednesday and Official Week 5 Launch Day! 🌟🙏

We’ve reached the halfway point of the Good Day Summer Series, and what a beautiful journey it has been so far. From declaring good days, praying more, enjoying the little things, and now stepping into “CHOOSE JOY” — each week has built upon the last, gently guiding us toward a more intentional, peaceful, and joy-filled summer.

This week’s engraving, “CHOOSE JOY,” carries a special beauty and purpose. It’s not just a nice phrase. It’s a daily reminder that joy is not something we passively wait for — it is something we actively choose, even when life feels heavy. In a world full of stress, negativity, and uncertainty, choosing joy is one of the most powerful acts of faith and wellness we can practice. It protects our hearts, renews our minds, strengthens our relationships, and draws us closer to the abundant life Jesus promised us.

“Joy is not something you find. It’s something you choose to live every single day.”

Wellness Wednesday: Choose Joy

True wellness isn’t just about our bodies. It’s about the state of our hearts and minds too. When we choose joy on purpose, we create space for peace, gratitude, and hope to flourish — even in the middle of ordinary or difficult days.

This week’s challenge is beautifully designed to help us do exactly that. It gives us practical, everyday ways to reclaim and protect our joy:

  • Find one blessing in every stressful moment
  • Replace complaints with gratitude
  • Encourage someone struggling
  • Create a joy playlist
  • Laugh intentionally every day
  • Write about what brings you peace
  • Share one joyful moment online

These aren’t just feel-good activities. They are wellness practices that rewire our minds, lift our spirits, and help us live the abundant life Jesus talked about.

Reflection
Choosing joy is one of the most powerful decisions we can make each day. It is not denying reality or pretending everything is perfect. It is choosing to see reality through the lens of God’s goodness. It is deciding that no matter what happens, we will not let circumstances steal our joy.

The Bible is filled with this invitation. Psalm 118:24 tells us, “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Nehemiah 8:10 reminds us that “the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Paul, writing from prison, commanded the Philippians to “rejoice in the Lord always” (Philippians 4:4). These are not suggestions for when life is easy. They are commands for every day — including the hard ones.

When we choose joy, we are partnering with the Holy Spirit to renew our minds. We are refusing to let worry, negativity, or stress have the final word. We are declaring that God is still good, His promises are still true, and His joy is still available to us.

This week’s challenge gives us practical tools to live this out:

  • Finding one blessing in every stressful moment trains us to look for God’s goodness even in difficulty.
  • Replacing complaints with gratitude shifts our focus from what’s wrong to what’s right.
  • Encouraging someone struggling turns our eyes outward and multiplies joy.
  • Creating a joy playlist fills our ears and hearts with what lifts us up.
  • Laughing intentionally every day reconnects us with childlike delight.
  • Writing about what brings us peace helps us remember God’s faithfulness.
  • Sharing one joyful moment online spreads light to others.

These small actions are not trivial. They are spiritual disciplines that protect our peace, renew our strength, and help us live the abundant life Jesus promised. When we choose joy consistently, it becomes our new normal. Stress loses its grip. Gratitude grows naturally. Relationships deepen. And we become the kind of people who light up rooms and point others to the source of true, lasting joy.

This is the beauty and purpose of “Live Happy.” It is not about faking it. It is about choosing it — every single day, with God’s help.
