Happy Thoughtful Thursday! 🤍

We’re deep into Week 2 of the Good Day Summer Series, and the new engraving “Pray More, Worry Less” is already making an impact. I’ve loved reading your updates as you lean into this week’s challenge — choosing morning prayer, limiting doom scrolling, releasing worries on paper, and spending quiet time with God.

Today feels like the perfect moment to slow down and reflect on something many of us are experiencing: the beautiful, tangible peace that begins to fill our hearts when we intentionally pray more and worry less.

“Worry is the interest you pay on trouble that hasn’t happened yet. Prayer is the deposit you make into peace that already belongs to you.”

Thoughtful Thursday

Thoughtful Thursday: The Peace That Comes When We Pray More and Worry Less

Worry has a way of creeping into our lives quietly. One small concern becomes a constant thought. One news headline turns into hours of anxiety. Before we know it, our minds are racing and our peace is gone. But God offers us a different path — one of prayer, trust, and supernatural peace.

This week’s focus is more than a nice idea. It’s a life-changing exchange: trading our heavy burden of worry for the light yoke of prayer and trust in God.

Reflection

There is a profound difference between a life dominated by worry and a life anchored in prayer. Worry keeps us stuck in our own limited understanding. Prayer opens the door to God’s unlimited wisdom and care. When we choose to pray more, we are actively handing over the things that weigh us down and inviting the Prince of Peace to stand guard over our hearts and minds.

This truth is backed by both Scripture and modern research. Multiple studies, including those published in the Journal of Religion and Health and by the American Psychological Association, have shown that regular prayer and spiritual practices significantly reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. People who engage in daily prayer report lower stress levels, better emotional regulation, and an overall greater sense of well-being. One study even found that prayer can lower cortisol (the stress hormone) in the body in ways similar to meditation, while also increasing feelings of hope and connection.

But the Bible goes even deeper. In Philippians 4:6-7, the Apostle Paul gives us this clear command and promise: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Notice what Paul says. He doesn’t say “try not to worry if you can.” He says “do not be anxious about anything.” And then he gives us the practical solution: prayer + thanksgiving. When we do this, God’s peace — a peace that doesn’t even make sense given our circumstances — stands guard like a soldier over our hearts and minds.

This new engraving, “Pray More, Worry Less”, is such a powerful daily tool because it brings this truth right to your wrist. Every time you see it, you’re reminded to pause and turn your worry into a prayer. It becomes a physical cue to obey Philippians 4:6-7 in real time. Instead of spiraling, you release. Instead of carrying the weight, you surrender it. And in that surrender, God’s peace begins to flow.

This is the wellness we’re building this week — not just calmer days, but deeper trust in God. Not just managing anxiety but replacing it with the supernatural peace that only He can give.

As you continue through this week’s challenge, pay attention to the moments when worry tries to rise. That’s your invitation to pray. Write it down. Release it. Speak it to God. Then watch what He does in your heart.
