Today’s exclusive engraving (available only April 1, 2026): CELEBRATE HOW FAR YOU’VE COME
This gentle yet powerful engraving invites us to do something many of us rarely do: pause, look back, and celebrate the progress God has made in our lives. It doesn’t say “celebrate how perfect you are.” It says celebrate how far you’ve come — by His grace.
Today is Holy Wednesday, traditionally called Spy Wednesday, the day we remember Judas Iscariot’s agreement to betray Jesus for thirty pieces of silver (Matthew 26:14-16). It is a somber reminder of betrayal, hidden motives, and the painful reality that even among Jesus’ closest followers, one heart was not fully surrendered.
In the shadow of this dark moment in Holy Week, today’s engraving offers a beautiful counterpoint: While betrayal was being planned in secret, God was still at work in the hearts of those who remained faithful. And He is still at work in you.
On this Wellness Wednesday, as we reflect on Spy Wednesday and the beginning of the final days leading to the cross, we are invited to celebrate how far we’ve come — not in pride, but in humble gratitude for the transforming grace of God.
Reflection: Celebrate How Far You’ve Come – A Holy Wednesday Reflection on Progress and Grace
Holy Wednesday, often called Spy Wednesday, is one of the more somber days in Holy Week. It commemorates the moment Judas Iscariot went to the chief priests and agreed to betray Jesus for thirty pieces of silver (Matthew 26:14-16; Mark 14:10-11; Luke 22:3-6). While the crowds were still buzzing from Jesus’ triumphal entry and the religious leaders were plotting His arrest, Judas — one of the twelve — slipped away in secret to make his deal.
This day stands as a sobering reminder of the reality of betrayal, hidden sin, and the fragility of the human heart. Even among those who walked closely with Jesus, one heart was not fully surrendered. One disciple was willing to trade the Messiah for money. The contrast is striking: the King of kings was being sold for the price of a slave. And yet, in the middle of this dark moment, God was still at work.
This is the tension we hold on Spy Wednesday and the perfect backdrop for today’s engraving: Celebrate How Far You’ve Come.
Because while Judas was choosing betrayal, the other disciples — flawed as they were — were still following. While one heart was hardening, others were being softened. While one was slipping into darkness, Jesus was still teaching, still loving, still moving toward the cross for all of them.
And the same is true in our lives.
We all have “Spy Wednesday” moments — times when parts of our hearts are tempted to betray what we know is right. Times when fear, bitterness, pride, or despair whisper that it’s not worth it. Times when we feel like we’re slipping backward instead of moving forward. But God’s message to us today is not condemnation. It is celebration.
Celebrate how far you’ve come.
Because by His grace, you are not where you used to be.
Look back with honest eyes:
  • You used to be consumed by anxiety — now you have moments of real peace.
  • You used to react in anger — now you pause and choose kindness more often.
  • You used to feel defined by your past — now you are learning to live in your new identity in Christ.
  • You used to give up when things got hard — now you keep showing up, even when it’s difficult.
  • You used to doubt God’s love — now your faith, though imperfect, is deeper and more rooted.
This progress didn’t happen because you are exceptionally strong on your own. It happened because God has been faithful. He began a good work in you, and He is carrying it on to completion (Philippians 1:6).
This is the heart of Spy Wednesday and the entire Holy Week journey: Even when betrayal is happening in secret, God is still working redemption in the open. Even when one disciple is falling away, Jesus is still moving toward the cross to save all who will come to Him.
Additional verses that deepen this truth:
  • Philippians 1:6 — “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Your growth is not dependent on your perfection — it is secured by God’s faithfulness.
  • 2 Corinthians 5:17 — “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” You are not just improved — you are being made new.
  • Ephesians 2:10 — “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” You are His masterpiece in progress.
  • Isaiah 43:18-19 — “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!” God is not stuck in your yesterday — He is creating your tomorrow.
  • Lamentations 3:22-23 — “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning.” Every day is a fresh opportunity to see how far He has brought you.
  • Psalm 103:12 — “As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” Your past does not define you — God’s mercy does.
On this Holy Wednesday, as we remember Judas’s betrayal, let us also remember this: God is not surprised by our failures, our slow progress, or our hidden struggles. He sees it all — and He is still proud of how far we’ve come.
You are not behind.
You are not a failure.
You are not stuck.
You are becoming.
And the God who watched Judas slip away in the night is the same God who rejoices over every small step you take toward Him.
So today, celebrate how far you’ve come.

Not with pride in yourself, but with deep gratitude for the God who has carried you this far — and who promises to carry you all the way home.

Real-Life Stories: Echoes of Celebrating How Far We’ve Come
In a quiet suburb of Denver, USA, Rachel — a 44-year-old teacher — spent years battling anxiety and self-doubt after a difficult divorce. She felt stuck and often believed she would never feel whole again.
One Holy Wednesday, during a church service focused on Spy Wednesday and betrayal, something shifted. She realized how far God had brought her. She was no longer paralyzed by fear. She was sleeping better. She was laughing again. She was showing up for her students with genuine joy.
That night she wrote in her journal: “I used to think I was broken beyond repair. Today I can honestly say — by God’s grace, I’ve come so far. I’m celebrating how far I’ve come.”
In another story from Oregon, USA, Marcus — a 57-year-old contractor — struggled for years with anger and bitterness after losing his business. He felt like a failure and carried deep shame.Through counseling, prayer, and the support of a men’s group, he slowly began to heal. On a Holy Wednesday, he looked back and realized he no longer exploded in anger. He was more patient with his family. He was learning to forgive himself.
He now tells others, “The storm tried to define me. But God has brought me so far. I’m celebrating how far I’ve come — and I know He is too.”
