Hey Inspiration Co. family,Happy Transformation Tuesday! We’re continuing our Grateful Hearts series with open, thankful hearts as we move closer to Mother’s Day. This week we’re focusing on how gratitude isn’t just a nice feeling — it’s a transformative force that can turn pain into praise and difficult seasons into purpose.Today we’re going deeper into that beautiful truth.Transformation Tuesday: From Pain to Praise – The Transformative Power of GratitudeReal transformation rarely happens overnight. It usually unfolds quietly, faithfully, one grateful choice at a time. Many of us carry deep pain connected to family — especially around motherhood. The ache of a complicated relationship with our mom. The regret of strained connections with our own children. The grief of loss or absence. The weight of wishing things had been different. In those places, it’s easy to stay stuck in the pain — replaying what went wrong, wondering if healing is even possible. But gratitude has the power to do something remarkable: it can take us from pain to praise. This doesn’t mean we deny the hurt or pretend everything was perfect. It means we honestly acknowledge the pain while choosing to look for God’s hand in it — the lessons learned, the resilience built, the compassion deepened, the ways He carried us when we couldn’t carry ourselves.Gratitude says:
“This hurt me… but I am thankful for the ways it shaped me.”
“I wish things had been different… but I see how God is redeeming it.”
“The relationship was broken… but I choose to thank God for the love that was there and the healing that is coming.”This shift from pain to praise is one of the most powerful transformations we can experience. Why Romans 8:28 Matters So MuchThe Bible gives us a clear foundation for this hope in Romans 8:28:
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”Let’s sit with this verse for a moment and really discern what it’s saying:
God is still writing your story.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”Let’s sit with this verse for a moment and really discern what it’s saying:
- “And we know” — This is not wishful thinking. It is confident knowledge based on God’s proven character and faithfulness.
- “that in all things” — Not just the good things, not just the easy things, but all things — the painful losses, the complicated family dynamics, the seasons of infertility, the regret, the broken relationships, the mental health struggles. Nothing is excluded from God’s redeeming work.
- “God works” — God is not passive or distant. He is actively at work, even when we can’t see it.
- “for the good” — Not that everything feels good in the moment, but that God is working it toward ultimate good — healing, growth, purpose, and His glory.
- “of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” — This promise is deeply personal. It’s for those who belong to Him.
- Genesis 50:20 — Joseph told his brothers, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good.” What was meant for evil became the saving of many lives.
- Isaiah 61:3 — God promises to give “a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning.”
- 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 — “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed… struck down, but not destroyed.” Even in pressure, God sustains us.
- James 1:2-4 — Trials produce perseverance, which makes us mature and complete.
