Today’s exclusive engraving (available only March 29, 2026):
I AM FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE – Psalm 139:14
This Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week — the most sacred and solemn week of the Christian year. It is the week we remember Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, where crowds waved palm branches and shouted “Hosanna!” as the King of kings rode in on a humble donkey. It is the week that leads us through the Last Supper, the agony in Gethsemane, the betrayal and trial, the crucifixion on Good Friday, and ultimately the victory of resurrection on Easter Sunday.
In the middle of this holy, weighty week, today’s engraving speaks a powerful and timely truth: You are fearfully and wonderfully made. The same God who sovereignly orchestrated every moment of this week — knowing the palms would wither, the cheers would turn to cries of “Crucify Him,” and the cross awaited — is the One who carefully knit you together in your mother’s womb.
As we wave our palms and begin this sacred journey toward the cross, let us also lift our hearts in worship and declare with confidence and wonder: I am fearfully and wonderfully made by the God who rode into Jerusalem for me.
Reflection: I Am Fearfully and Wonderfully Made – The Sacred Wonder of Palm Sunday and Your Identity
This is no ordinary Sunday. Today marks the beginning of Holy Week, the most solemn and significant week in the Christian calendar. For centuries, believers have observed these days with reverence, walking alongside Jesus from His triumphal entry into Jerusalem all the way to the empty tomb.
On Palm Sunday, the crowds welcomed Jesus with great joy. They spread their cloaks on the road, waved palm branches — symbols of victory and national hope — and cried out “Hosanna to the Son of David!” (Matthew 21:9). They believed the long-awaited Messiah had finally come to deliver them from Roman oppression and establish His kingdom.
But Jesus knew the full story the crowds did not yet understand. He was not riding in to claim an earthly throne or lead a political revolution. He was riding toward betrayal, suffering, and death on a cross. The same voices shouting “Hosanna” would soon shout “Crucify Him.” The palms would wither. The celebration would turn to mourning. And yet, in perfect obedience to the Father’s will, Jesus rode forward.
It is into this sacred tension that Psalm 139:14 speaks so powerfully: “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
The God who sovereignly orchestrated every moment of this Holy Week — the donkey, the palms, the fulfilled prophecy, the coming cross, and the coming resurrection — is the same God who fearfully and wonderfully made you.
“Fearfully and wonderfully made” is not a casual compliment. The Hebrew word yare (fearfully) carries the idea of awe, reverence, and even holy trembling at the intricate, mysterious work of God. Palah (wonderfully) means to be set apart, distinguished, and marvelous beyond comprehension. Together they paint a picture of intricate, intentional, breathtaking design.
You were not mass-produced.
You were not an afterthought.
You were not a mistake.
You were deliberately, lovingly, skillfully crafted by the same God who planned Jesus’ triumphal entry centuries in advance. The same God who knew every shout of “Hosanna” and every future cry of “Crucify” still chose to create you with awe and wonder.
This truth is especially powerful as we begin Holy Week because it reminds us that God’s plans are always bigger and better than our expectations. The crowds wanted a political savior who would overthrow Rome. God gave them a suffering Servant who would conquer sin and death through the cross. In the same way, we often pray for certain outcomes in our lives, but God is working something far deeper — He is forming us into the people we were created to be.
Psalm 139 as a whole is a masterpiece of intimacy. David writes:
  • God created my inmost being (v. 13)
  • He knit me together in my mother’s womb (v. 13)
  • I am fearfully and wonderfully made (v. 14)
  • All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be (v. 16)
This is not generic. This is personal. The God who rode into Jerusalem on a donkey knows the number of hairs on your head. He knows your thoughts before you speak them. He knows every storm you’ve faced and every season still ahead — and He is still proud of who you are becoming.
As we begin this Holy Week, let us remember that the same hands that guided the donkey are the hands that formed you. The same heart that rode toward the cross is the heart that delights in you. The same God who conquered death is the God who is still completing His work in you.
This truth invites us to see ourselves with fresh wonder. You are not defined by the storms you have faced. You are not defined by your failures, your weaknesses, or your past. You are defined by the God who fearfully and wonderfully made you — and who sent His Son into Jerusalem to make a way for you to live fully in that identity.
So today, lift your palms — and lift your heart.

Declare with confidence and wonder:

“I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
Christian Faith Points
  • We are God’s intentional creation — fearfully and wonderfully made with purpose (Psalm 139:13-14).
  • God’s plans for us were written before we took our first breath (Psalm 139:16; Jeremiah 29:11).
  • Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week show us that God’s ways are higher than our expectations — He brings salvation through humility and the cross (Matthew 21:1-11).
  • Our identity is not defined by the storms we face, but by the God who formed us and walks with us through them (Isaiah 43:2).
  • True worship includes declaring God’s wonderful works in us (Psalm 139:14).
Real-Life Stories: Echoes of Being Fearfully and Wonderfully Made
In a quiet suburb of Atlanta, USA, Leah — a 36-year-old teacher — struggled for years with self-worth after a painful breakup and years of infertility. She felt invisible and questioned whether God had made a mistake in creating her.
During a Palm Sunday service as palms were waved, the pastor read Psalm 139:14. Something broke open in her heart. She began to see herself not as a failure, but as someone intentionally crafted by God. Over time, she found healing, adopted a child, and started a support group for women struggling with identity and infertility.
She now says, “I used to think I was a mistake. Now I know I am fearfully and wonderfully made — and so is every part of my story.”
In another story from Oregon, USA, Thomas — a 62-year-old retired firefighter — battled depression after losing his wife. He felt his best days were behind him and wondered what purpose he had left.
One Palm Sunday, as palms were waved during the processional, he felt the Lord whisper, “You are still fearfully and wonderfully made.” That moment began a slow but powerful transformation. He started volunteering at a veterans’ center and mentoring young firefighters. He often tells them, “God doesn’t throw anyone away. You are still fearfully and wonderfully made — and He has purpose for you.”
Your Sacred Sunday Story

Then write today’s engraving over it: “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Thank God for the way He created you and is still shaping you.
Practical Tools: Living Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

  • Palm Sunday practice. Wave your hands (or actual palms if you have them) while declaring: “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
  • Self-compassion step. Speak kindly to yourself today in one area where you’ve been self-critical.
  • Verse anchor. Carry today’s engraving as a reminder of how intentionally God created you.
Prayer or Reflection
Father, on this Palm Sunday — the beginning of Holy Week — I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Thank You for creating me with intention, purpose, and love. Forgive me for the times I have doubted Your design or compared myself to others. Help me see myself the way You see me — as Your beloved creation. As we remember Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, remind me that the same God who rode toward the cross is the One who formed me in my mother’s womb. I am Yours. I am wonderfully made. Amen.
Commitment / Pledge
Today, I commit to living as someone who is fearfully and wonderfully made. I will reject shame and comparison and instead praise You for how You created me. As we begin Holy Week, may this truth deepen my worship and anchor me in changing the world one wrist at a time.
